Anushka Sharma, few would believe, was made to bulk up for Anurag Kashyap's period drama Bombay Velvet, which is expected to hit the theatres on May 15.
SpotboyE.com has it that she plays a Goan girl who ages from 18-30. So, for her part as a young woman, she had to put on weight.
“Anushka had to put on five-six kilos when she is shown as 18-20 years of age in the film," a source told SpotboyE.com.
When contacted, fashion designer Niharika Bhasin Khan, who has designed the look of the film, confirmed the story, saying, Anushka plays a Goan and women from that state weren’t all skinny. They had some flesh on their body and we wanted her to look voluptuous... And she pulled it off very well.”
